SAFE Clinic To Open In Nashville, TN

The Sexual Assault Forensic Clinic, otherwise known as SAFE Clinic is opening in Nashville by the end of June. This privately funded clinic will help anyone who is 16-year-old or older after a sexual assault.

Why Open A SAFE Clinic?

Until now, there has only been one place for sexual assault victims to go for a forensic exam - the hospital. Now, victims will have the option of going to the clinic which has been created to be a safe, welcoming, and warm environment.

Although hospitals can provide the assistance that victims need, it's often a hustling, sterile, and cold environment where survivors may not feel comfortable after their attack. The SAFE clinic founders are hoping that by providing a different type of environment, more victims will come forward to get the care that they need.

Victims Often Afraid To Come Forward

There are many reasons why a victim may be afraid to come forward after being sexually assaulted or raped. Typically, these reasons include:

1. They knew their attacker.
2. Their abuser threatened them and those they love.
3. They are afraid no one will believe them.
4. They are ashamed.

At Abuse Guardians, our goal is to help survivors of sexual assault by getting them the legal help them need. If you or someone you love is a survivor, contact us today:
