Woman Attacked While Jogging In Boise ID

Police are searching for a man who allegedly attacked a women in what officers are calling a "brazen" sexual assault.

Jogging Woman Choked Into Unconsciousness

While running down West Brogan Street at around 6:30 a.m., a woman was suddenly attacked from behind. Despite her efforts to get away and to fight off her attacker, he managed to get her into a choke hold and held her until she passed out. Later, she awoke to find him holding her down and upon realizing she had regained consciousness, the man took off.

A passing driver saw her lying in the street and called 911.

In addition to her neck injuries, her physical exam showed evidence that a sexual assault took place while she was unconscious. Officers are now looking for the man who harmed her.

Female Joggers Regularly Assaulted

Sadly, this woman is hardly the first to be attacked while running. Just earlier in the year, the country was shocked by the disappearance and eventual discovery of the murder of Mollie Tibbets, who was killed by a man who was following her.

A recent survey showed that 43% of all female runners have experienced some form of harassment while running - a much higher percentage than men at 4%.
