Massachusetts Provides $80 Million For Sexual Assault Support

The Massachusetts state budget was set recently and residents were thrilled to see that there was an increase in the budget for sexual assault and domestic violence prevention and support has been increased.

$80 Million Budgeted For Sexual Assault Prevention & Support

Since 2015, the state budget for sexual assault prevention and support has been increased by 25%, including the increase in the current budget. The budget will go towards raising awareness, providing emergency shelter for victims, and to increase staff numbers at the State Police Crime Laboratory.

This increase will hopefully help evidence from sexual assaults be processed faster and that connections can be made in cases of serial rape. Sadly, many rape kits sit untested for a long period of time, especially when a suspect hasn’t been identified.

Survivors Need Support

Survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse both need and deserve support after what they’ve been through but many aren’t aware of the various programs that exist. Increased awareness about these programs and the rights of survivors could help thousands.

At Abuse Guardians, we are proud to help survivors seek justice. Our legal team can help connect clients with the resources they need to get the support required.

Our goal is to obtain the maximum compensation possible for our clients. We do this by investigating the case, collecting evidence, and building a case that will show that negligence resulted in the attack on our client.
